Ilia Segal, MD

Dr. Segal grew up in Lithuania and received a Summa Cum Laude degree in Medicine from the University of Vilnius, one of the oldest Medical Schools in Europe.  He moved to Israel in 1971 and completed his Internship and Residency in Medicine at Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot in 1975.  He did research in lung physiology at Beilinson Medical Center and continued there as a Pulmonary Fellow.  He became a Senior Physician at Beilinson and an Instructor in Pulmonary Medicine at Tel Aviv Sackler School of Medicine.  Dr. Segal’s major interest in medicine became pulmonary oncology.  He came to the United States where he continued his training and completed a Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at UMDNJ/Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

Dr. Segal started his private practice in Pulmonary Medicine/Internal Medicine at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Barnabas Medical Center, and Bayonne  Medical Center.  The practice grew and is known as Pulmonary & Critical Care Associates, LLC with 4 full time Pulmonary Specialists and offices in Union, NJ and Bayonne, NJ.

 

Dr. Karpman

Dr. Karpman earned his undergraduate education at Stony Brook University and his medical degree at St. George's University School of Medicine. He holds board certification in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. Dr.Karpman completed his fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center with a focus on pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. Dr. Karpman has privileges at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ and in Bayonne Medical Center in Bayonne, NJ. When he is not in the hospital, Dr. Karpman works in a private practice known as Pulmonary & Critical Care Associates, LLC with Drs. Segal and Burghauser located in Bayonne, NJ and Union, NJ.
